Safeguarding Notice

SkillearnIQ Hub — Safeguarding Notice Effective date: 25 September 2026 1. A learning community where people feel safe Every learner should be able to ask questions, make mistakes and develop their skills without fear of abuse or humiliation. SkillearnIQ Hub LTD expects everyone using its services to respect that right. We take concerns about harm seriously, including harm involving adults who may need additional support. This notice applies to learners, parents and guardians, tutors, staff and others taking part in SkillearnIQ activities. It covers conduct on the platform and relevant conduct outside it where there is a connection to our service or a risk to a learner. A child is a person under 18 for the purposes of this policy. 2. How to report a concern If someone is in immediate danger, contact local emergency services or an appropriate local authority. Do not wait for an online response from SkillearnIQ. If you are a learner, tell a trusted adult who can help you safely. That does not have to be the adult you are worried about. For a concern connected to our service: 1. Open https://skillearniqhub.com/contact and select Safeguarding concern. You can use this route without signing in. 2. If you can access account support, create a case with the safeguarding category. 3. If the website is unavailable, email info@skillearniqhub.com with “Safeguarding concern” in the subject. Give a safe way to contact you and a brief outline; we will arrange an appropriate route for sensitive details. Provide the relevant account or class reference, what happened, approximately when, and whether anyone may be at immediate risk. Say if it would be unsafe to contact a particular person or use a particular address. You do not need to investigate the concern or prove it before reporting. Keep any on-screen reference so you can follow up. Do not send passwords, verification codes, unnecessary identity documents or intimate images. Do not download or forward suspected child sexual abuse material; report where it was encountered so authorised people can deal with it. Preserve relevant ordinary messages or references without circulating them publicly. 3. The conduct we expect Learners, tutors and adults must communicate respectfully and keep learning relationships appropriate. The following behaviour is prohibited: - Bullying, discrimination, threats, humiliation, intimidation or retaliation against a person who raises a concern. - Sexual comments or requests, grooming, exploitation, unwanted intimate contact, or sharing sexual material with a child. - Pressuring a learner to keep an adult’s conduct secret, meet privately, move to personal messaging, share an address or reveal private images. - Seeking personal payments, gifts or favours through a position of trust; sharing private class links or another person’s records. - Impersonating a parent, guardian, tutor or staff member, or misrepresenting authority to obtain access to a learner. These rules also apply to peer-to-peer behaviour. A learner who has experienced harm will not be blamed for reporting it or for having been manipulated by another person. 4. Responsibilities of tutors and staff Tutors must complete the required application, identity/authority and suitability review, receive an approved teaching assignment, and follow the platform’s conduct rules. A profile or account alone is not evidence that someone is authorised to teach. Teaching communications should use approved platform channels or an explicitly approved class arrangement. Tutors must not privately solicit children on personal social media, arrange unofficial meetings, promise exam results in exchange for favours, or request direct payments. Staff must report concerns through the restricted safeguarding route rather than investigate them informally or confront an alleged abuser. We will establish training, supervision and escalation arrangements appropriate to each role. A platform approval is not a guarantee that misconduct is impossible, and concerns about an approved tutor must still be reported and reviewed. 5. Family access and learner privacy A parent or guardian needs a separate verified account and a confirmed relationship before permitted learner information becomes available. A linking code starts a request; it is not proof of parental responsibility. We assess disputed relationships and restrict access where necessary to protect the learner. We will normally work with a suitable parent or guardian when this helps protect a child. We may delay or limit such contact where the person is involved in the concern, disclosure could increase risk, or an appropriate authority advises otherwise. A reporter should tell us about any unsafe contact route. 6. Live classes, recordings and images Live teaching may begin only after the meeting provider, tutor, access controls and moderation arrangements have been approved. Class links are private. Tutors must use the approved joining and moderation process and report unexpected participants or unsafe behaviour. Learners and families must not privately record, photograph or distribute a class or its participants without the required permission. If an official session will be recorded, participants must receive advance information about the purpose, access, retention and applicable choice or permission arrangements. There is no blanket permission to record every class. Recording is not a substitute for supervision. Publicity involving an identifiable learner requires a separate, appropriate permission process. Participation in a lesson does not by itself authorise a testimonial, public photograph or marketing use. 7. What happens after a report? An authorised safeguarding lead assesses the concern, immediate risks and appropriate next steps. These may include restricting contact, pausing a teaching assignment, securing relevant records, requesting further information, or referring a matter to a competent authority. We record decisions and follow-up actions. We may restrict access temporarily while facts are assessed; a precautionary restriction is not, by itself, a finding of wrongdoing. We aim to handle concerns fairly while giving priority to safety. You may ask for an update using your reference, although we may be unable to disclose another person’s information or details of an investigation. Where a concern involves the usual safeguarding lead or senior management, it must be routed to an independent designated reviewer. You may also contact an appropriate external authority directly; you do not have to complete our internal process first. 8. Confidentiality and records Safeguarding information is restricted to people who need it for protection, investigation or a lawful obligation. We cannot promise absolute secrecy: information may need to be shared to protect someone or comply with the law. We explain this sensitively and limit disclosure to what is justified. Ordinary parent dashboards and teaching records do not provide unrestricted access to safeguarding case material. Evidence must use an approved secure handling process. Relevant records may need to remain under a documented retention hold; routine account closure or a request from an alleged abuser must not automatically remove them. 9. Accountability and contact Responsible organisation: SkillearnIQ Hub LTD, Suite 24, Adonai Plaza, Egbeda, Lagos, Nigeria. Designated safeguarding lead: Chuks Igboegwu. Independent escalation contact: SmartDesk Studio Limited, info@smartdeskstudio.ng, +234 802 521 3222. Use this contact if your concern involves the safeguarding lead or you need an independent review. Contact mailbox: info@skillearniqhub.com. Monitored hours: Monday–Saturday, 10:00 a.m.–7:00 p.m. West Africa Time (WAT, UTC+1). Reports are reviewed during these hours and prioritised according to risk. Reports received outside these hours await the next monitoring period; for immediate danger, use emergency services rather than waiting for a reply. The website and mailbox are not an emergency service and are not represented as continuously monitored. We will review this notice and our operating arrangements following a serious incident or material service change. The current version will be identified on the website.
